Due to Covid-19, our usual live Spring Festival Gala Ireland which showcases a variety of Chinese culture, and celebrates the Chinese New Year in Ireland will not be a live event this year. Instead, we are going online with the festivities and invite you to join us with a video submission to celebrate the Year of the Ox.
Selected videos will be included in a one-hour video.
Prizes of €200 to the 20 best videos.
How: Submission by uploading a short video clip (1-5 mins) through the google form linked below or input a file-sharing site link (e.g. WeTransfer) to the google form linked below.
What: A creative mini-showcase of Chinese Culture on the topic of ‘Celebrating Chinese New Year in Ireland.’ This can be a song, dance, poem, story, calligraphy, painting or other Chinese traditional performance OR a reportage, vlog, narrative, animation, or even a mini documentary that you have directed/produced or designed for this competition.
Who: Any student/individual who is interested in Chinese language and culture and who lives in Ireland can enter the submission except for judge panel members and their respective spouses, parents, siblings, and children.
Format: .mov or .mp4 file. Video resolution must be AT LEAST 720p (1280 x 720) or 4K (3840 × 2160)

This will broadcast on 14th February 2021 on UCD Confucius Institute YouTube channel to celebrate the Chinese New Year online.
