Lucky Fish Workshop

Paper Mache craft for ages 5+with visual artist and curator Jinny Ly

In this fun and creative Lunar New Year workshop hosted by artist Jinny Ly, children will learn all about paper mache while making their very own colourful fish! We’ll start with a short, easy-to-understand introduction to paper mache, where it comes from, and how artists use it today. We’ll also talk about why fish are considered lucky and special in Chinese culture.

At the end of the workshop, we’ll have a show-and-tell (time permitting) so everyone can share their artwork with the group. Children will leave with their own decorated paper mache fish, new art skills, and the curiosity to try paper mache projects at home.
